I'm out here to help folks understand their dyslexic minds! Check the testimony of those I have helped.
Hans has been an absolute game changer for my son, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. My son, who is 12, has ADHD, dyslexia, and dysgraphia, but he is also incredibly bright. Despite our commitment to supporting him with both English and Spanish language dyslexia tutors, the traditional school system left him feeling discouraged and overwhelmed. Elementary school, in particular, was a tough experience for him—so much of the feedback he received was negative, and even well-intentioned teachers didn’t have the tools to help him see his strengths. Hans’ blog post about spelling perfectly describes what my son went through. By the time he reached middle school, I was frustrated with how special education services focused on providing resources without actually teaching my son how to use them. He needed more than just accommodations—he needed someone to help him understand his own brain and how to work with it, rather than constantly feeling like he was fighting against it.
That’s exactly where Hans stepped in and made an incredible difference. Instead of reinforcing the idea that my son’s learning differences were obstacles to overcome, Hans helped him recognize them as advantages. Hans teaches him not only how to use the tools available to support his learning but also how to develop strategies for success in a school setting. More importantly, he has shifted my son’s mindset entirely. He no longer sees himself as someone who struggles in school but as someone who has unique strengths that set him apart. Hans has instilled in him a sense of confidence and self-advocacy that we hadn’t seen before. The transformation has been remarkable—my son has gone from dreading school to being an engaged, enthusiastic student who is genuinely excited about learning.
The results speak for themselves. Since working with Hans, my son has made honor roll for the past two quarters, something that once seemed out of reach given how beaten down he had felt by the traditional school system. He is now learning how to advocate for himself effectively, communicate his needs, and use the tools that help him succeed—all skills that will serve him well beyond the classroom. Hans’ mentorship has been life-changing, and I am beyond grateful for the positive impact he has had on my son’s education and self-esteem. If you have a child who is struggling not because of their abilities but because of how their learning differences are framed in traditional education, I cannot recommend Hans highly enough. He doesn’t just teach kids how to cope—he helps them thrive.
